Method 1: To Disable Avast Antivirus Temporarily

Step 1: First, click on the small exponent icon or triangle icon from the taskbar. You will find it in the lower right corner of the desktop.

Step 2: As you click on it, a notification bar will open. Here right click on the Avast Antivirus icon to get a list of options related to the security suite.

Step 3: Next, click on Avast shields control. Note that select the option depending up to the time that is how long you wish to disable Avast Antivirus.

Step 4: Once you select the Avast shield control option, it will ask your confirmation. To confirm your options click on yes and all done!

Method 2: Disable Avast Antivirus Temporarily

Even you can turn off all Avast shields, or in other words, you are entirely turning off the whole Avast Antivirus active protection. Yes, the process is quite easy, but still, you have to be sure about what you are doing.

Step 1: Go to the Windows taskbar and find the icon of Avast antivirus software. If you don’t see then click on the triangle arrow, you will surely find it in hidden icons.

Step 2: Now, right click on it and find the option ‘Avast shields control‘, and choose one of the options from the list to disable for:

  1. 10 minutes;
  2. 1 hour;
  3. Until computer restart;
  4. Permanently

Step 3: Pick the option as per your choice and Avast will ask your confirmation. Here click on yes.

Step 4: Now Avast and it’s all shields should be disabled or paused for the time you selected.

Step 5: To make sure Avast is disabled. Open the main window of software and it will pop-up a message in red color ‘All antivirus shields are off‘.

Step 6: In case if you want to enable it again, click on the green button ‘RESOLVE‘, and it shows a new pop-up with a message ‘You’re protected‘.

Method 3: Step to Disable Avast Antivirus Temporarily

In case if your problem is not resolved form any of above two methods, then last option is to uninstall Avast antivirus.

Step 1: Press Windows key and R key together to open run command.

Step 2: In the search bar type control panel and click on ok to open it.

Step 3: Now go to the control panel>>Programs>> Uninstall Program.

Step 4: Scroll down and find Avast antivirus, click on it and choose to uninstall option.

Step 5: Wait until the process completes.
