Server DNS Address Could Not Be Found [SOLVED]

To solve the error, five different fixes available for the chrome users. It may be possible that trying a single method can solve your problem or you need to follow all the methods. So look and find which works for you. They are:

  1. Delete all the files in your ‘etc’ folder
  2. Clear Chrome’s host cache
  3. Update your drivers
  4. Configure your DNS servers
  5. Renew and flush the DNS

Solution 1: Delete all the files in your ‘etc.’ folder

It is a simple fix. Follow the step given below to find and delete the etc. folder.

Step 1: Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and delete all the files there.

Step 2: Now go to chrome and try to open website again

Solution 2: Clear Chrome’s host cache

It is possible that Chrome’s host cache is corrupt or too full, then you can’t visit or access the website. But you can fix it easily by following steps given below:

Step 1: Open Chrome and in the search bar type chrome://net-internals/#dns and press Enter from your keyboard.

Step 2: Next, click on the Clear host cache tab.

Step 3: Now check the problem is solved or not.

Solution 3: Update your drivers

Sometimes due to outdated or corrupted drivers, the server DNS error caused and blocked your internet access to particular sites. So you have to assure that all your drivers are up to date and correct. You can update the drivers in two ways, one is manually, and other is automatically with driver updater software. If you are an advanced user and know about the drivers, then you can update your drivers manually. To update drivers visit the manufacturer’s website and download the latest, correct and compatible driver according to your OS. in some case you have to try drivers of both that is the manufacturer of your PC and the manufacturer of the component itself.

If you are not sure or comfortable, then you can update drivers automatically with the driver updater software Driver Easy. Once you download and install Driver Easy, it will automatically scan your system and find all not compatible, faulty, old and incorrect drivers. To install it, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Download Driver Easy from the link given below and install it: https://www.drivereasy.com/

Step 2: Open and run it and click on Scan Now tab. Now Driver Easy will scan your computer system and find all drivers who cause a problem.

Step 3: Now click on scan now tab and all done!

Step 4: After the process completes, restart your pc and check the problem is solved or not.

Solution 4: Change your DNS server settings

Sometimes due to the incorrect DNS server settings configuration, you can’t access the internet. To set them correct follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Press Windows key and R simultaneously from your keyboard. Type control panel in it and hit enter from a keyboard.

Step 2: Change the view by Small icons and find and click on Network and Sharing Center>> change adapter settings.

Step 3: Right-click on your type of connection icon that is Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection and clicks on Properties:

Step 4: Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and again click on Properties of it:

Step 5: Go to the general tab and do one of the following, it depends on the option Obtain DNS server address automatically’ is already selected or not.

Step 6:

  • If Obtain DNS server address automatically is not already selected, then select it, and click on OK.
  • If Obtain DNS servers address automatically is selected then Use the following DNS server address, change it and click on ok.
    Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
    Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

Step 7: Check the problem solved or not.

Solution 5: Renew and flush the DNS

Once you visit any website, Windows automatically stores the IP addresses, so next time you visit it, they can open it faster. But if the stored data is corrupted somehow, then it can cause a problem, and you can’t revisit the website. So to solve it renewed flush the DNS using the steps given below:

Step 1: From the keyboard, press Windows key and R to open the run command window.

Step 2: In the search bar of the run window, type cmd and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to command prompt as an administrator. It will open a black window.

Step 3: Type the following command one by one and press enter after each command:

ipconfig /flushdns (press Enter)
ipconfig /renew (press Enter)
ipconfig /registerdns (press Enter)

Step 4: Restart your pc and check the problem solved or not.
